Blockchain Hackathon & Workshops
BUILD THE NEXT GENERATION OF APPLICATIONS
Join us on the 18th & 19th of October for the Inaugural Dappathon (Decentralized Applications Hackathon) in Israel, hosted by DappWorks & Eden Block. Be a part of a unique gathering where developers, designers and professionals receive an opportunity to build products based on blockchain protocols.
Alongside the hackathon, The event will be hosting numerous blockchain workshops & lectures, opened to other guests besides the hackathon participants.
The event is blockchain agnostic. We support entrants building dapps on Ethereum, EOS or any other blockchain with smart contract support.
Prizes will be provided to the top 3 winning teams. In addition to the financial prize, the team that will develop the best DApp according to the judging panel will have an opportunity to meet with Joseph Lubin, Founder of ConsenSys and co-founder of Ethereum and share their vision.
We are looking forward to turning data into knowledge, buzz into reality, and technological advances in the blockchain ecosystem into real, viable, and usable products.
The event is free of charge and the number of seats is limited.
Registration will close on Wedensday, 17/10/18 at 12:00

What is a Dapp?
Dapp is an abbreviation for decentralized application.
A Dapp is an application that utilizes Blockchain technology. A DApp has its backend code running on a decentralized peer-to-peer network with trustless protocols. Contrast this with an App where the backend code is running on centralized servers. They are designed to avoid any single point of failure and serve many use cases.
What kind of dapps can be developed?
During the hackathon, you will be able to develop any type of decentralized application. Some ideas include: Games, UI/UX solutions for blockchain, TCRs, Curation Markets, prediction markets, decentralized autonomous organization (DAOs), DEXs (exchanges), supply chain, audits of smart contracts, legal, fintech and education.

DappWorks & Edenblockhello@dappworks.co
What is DappWorks?
DappWorks was founded by experienced blockchain developers. DappWorks is an organization that aims to raise greater awareness of decentralized applications in the developer community. We believe that a strong community of developers is a key factor for the mass adoption of Dapps.
What is the event about?
It is a 2-day event for learning, hacking, hiring & networking with fellow blockchain developers and enthusiasts.
Who can attend the Dappathon?
Anyone with an interested in blockchain development is welcome to attend. Developers, designers, product, marketing and business people are all welcome to bring their own team or join an existing one. Don't worry if you're not a blockchain expert, there will multiple workshops throughout the day. The event is intended for both those starting out and exploring, or developers with in depth knowledge of smart contracts. Places are limited so make sure to apply early!
I am a developer but I don't have any blockchain experience. Am I welcome?
Yes! Our goal is to bring more attention to decentralized applications. If you have development experience you will be able to catch on fairly quickly.
What are the prizes?
TBA, but expect over $5000 worth of prizes and a chance to pitch your idea to some of the biggest names in the crypto space.
How will teams be formed and what is the ideal team size?
You may register with a team of your own but in case you don't have a team, we will help you form one. The ideal number of members per team is 3-6 members.
Can we compete with an existing product?
No. It needs to be built from scratch during the weekend. Idea creation and team formation will be done prior to the event. All submitted code must be created between the hacking period start and stop time.
Does it cost money to participate?
No! The goal of the event is to bring more quality developers into dapps development. The event organizers are doing this voluntarily with the sole purpose of making the Israeli blockchain ecosystem thrive.
What should I bring?
A laptop and a good mood. We will take care of the rest: free wifi, food, drinks, tea, coffee and office supplies.
What can I build?
You can build any decentralized app. Some ideas include: games, UI/UX solutions for blockchain, TCRs, Curation Markets, prediction markets, decentralized autonomous organization (DAOs), DEXs (exchanges), supply chain, audits of smart contracts, legal, fintech and education.
Should I pre-install any software on my laptop before the Hackathon?
Teams are encouraged to come prepared for the Hackathon by having their own laptops with a suitable development environment pre-installed for languages they would like to use and Git.
What if I have other questions?
If you have any questions about the event, just drop us a line at hello@DappWorks.co and we'll be in touch!
